India are set to enter the field in a new face for the one-day series against England.

The Indian squad for the ODI series against England has undergone a major change. It is said that the decision was made based on the performances of the players during the last ODI tour of Australia. Mayank Agarwal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Manish Pandey, Navdeep Saini and Sanju Samson, who did not feature in the tournament, have been dropped from the squad. Rohith Sharma, who performed well against Australia in the Test Series, has been named in the ODI squad and has been named as vice-captain. Other players named in the squad are Rishabh Pant, Krunal Pandya, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Siraj.

The most important thing that happened here was the inclusion of Prasidh Krishna in the Indian national squad for the first time. The 25-year-old  Medium fast bowler is an all-rounder. He is a player representing Karnataka State. Although he played in a first-class match for the first time in 2015, he has played in only nine first-class matches so far. His prowess in limited overs matches led him to be selected. He has taken 81 wickets in 48 List A matches and a batting average of 23.07. He has taken 33 wickets in 40 T20 matches and has a batting average of 35.84. He has also represented Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL since 2018. He has taken 18 wickets at an economy rate of 9.33 in his 24 IPL matches. Even if he is included in the squad, it is a question of which all-rounder he will replace if he is to play.
