The
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Monday that the India
vs England remaining three T20 matches will be played at the Narendra Modhi
Stadium without spectators.
They said the
decision was based on the rise of the current Covid-19 pandemic in the country,
although only 50% of spectators were allowed to enter past matches between the
two countries. They specifically mentioned that the Narendra Modhi Staduim in
Ahmedabad auditorium can seat 132,000 spectators. 50% of them are large
and that decision had to be made based on this situation.
They further
stated that they will also refund the money to all those who bought tickets for
the remaining three matches.
